| Our Vidyalaya has been awarded "THE CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE" as token of appreciation on 5% or more students of the Vidyalaya securing 90% or above / 40% or more students of the Vidyalaya securing 75% or above marks at AISSE 2007 and AISSE 2010, conducted by CBSE." |
About KV - The school was established in 1966. Affiliation No. - 2600001 The status of land – The school building is built on 6.5 acres of land for secondary wing and 3 acres for primary wing. The land is under the ownership of UT Chandigarh. And the case for transfer is under consideration. The school building is on lease by UT Chandigarh.Evolutionary Milestones – The maintenance of building is taken care of and special funds are released by KVS (HQ) on request. Details of previous and new campus- The school building is very old and needs improvement. Previously, specially toilets were in very bad condition. New wash rooms with modern technology are built. School Library was not situated in proper place. A new Recourse room having the capacity of 100 participants is built. Games and Sports facilities in the Vidyalaya – Facilities available for: (i) Outdoor games – Tae-knowdo, Handball, Volley ball, Basketball, Football, Badminton. (ii) Indoor games – nil. Physical Infrastructural Facilities needed- Proposal for Skating is under process. |

Namaskar ! Welcome to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector-47, with a difference.
It fills me with ineffable pride and immense satisfaction at having completed four wonderful years of zest and zeal at KV-47. I salute my staff members, parents, students and the stakeholders for their remarkable contribution in taking the school to heights.
In the present scenario, when every sunrise dawns with a fresh challenge, the sculpting of a child’s personality on desired lines is a mammoth task that calls for a deep insight, clear vision and keen perception. Education is undergoing a great metamorphosis. The School has to provide a platform for various organized and unorganized experiences to the young minds in their formative years to enable them to contribute to the society as dutiful and responsible citizen.
Looking back at my four years stint at KV-47, I experience a deep satisfaction at the level of academic excellence, we aspire for, Our students with their patience; perseverance and perspiration have earned a competitive edge over others in CBSE results( session 2010-11). 13 students of Class X got CGPA 10 out of 10. Master Ajay Kumar of class XII (science), Kumari Shivani (Commerce) and Kumari Deepali(FMM) made us proud by clinching the top slot (I position) in Chandigarh region. 3 students selected for IIT.
My students have proved themselves worthy of my immense faith in their potentials and given meaningful expression to their senses and sensibilities. The success of the events speaks volume about the high level of commitment of the faculty members.
Even Parents have built up a relationship that strengthens the efforts of the teacher besides unveiling the innate potential of their ward.
All along this winding and tortuous road to excellence, our efforts have been overseen by the benign eyes of our superiors. I put on record the timely support and guidance rendered by worthy Asstt Commissioner Sh M S Chauhan and our mentor Sh Hargopal EO Chandigarh Region and Sh M L Sondhi EO Chandigarh Region. Without their clear vision; we wouldn’t have achieved the targets.
I owe my indebtedness to Air Cmde Rajeev Sachdeva, Chairman VMC for his solicitous concern. With the change of baton, Air Cmde SC Chafekar, Chairman VMC has taken up the reins of Chairman VMC. We are looking forward to his encouragement, guidance and motivation in translating out dreams to reality. My mission is to restore the richness of educational culture and make it more vibrant than before. All my endeavors are directed towards making teaching-learning process a joyful activity in a congenial and conducive environment for all, where every one takes a responsibility to contribute a little for the holistic development of child who is at the heart of our aspirations.
Nevertheless, there are areas which still need improvement. Let’s rise all to put in more efforts to touch the sky. I appeal to all stakeholders to come and join me to create more vibrant platform for learning.
